Project Overview
MnDOT is planning to resurface six miles of Hwy 246 from the intersection of Rice Co. Rd. 26 to the intersection of Hwy 56 in Goodhue County. Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2025.
Repairing the pavement
Improving travel for all users
Replacing the culverts to improve drainage
Identifying areas that require safety improvements such as guardrails

Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2025. MnDOT will continue to engage the public and stakeholders to gather input and further develop the final design for this area.

Be Prepared
Hwy 246 will be closed to traffic during construction
Travelers will use Hwy 26, Hwy 60 and Hwy 56 during the closure
People will be able to access homes and businesses during construction
Our project team will be available before, during and after construction. We’ll continue to listen to your needs and concerns and adjust when possible
